“Poland is proud and honoured to be the ODIHR’s host country (…). Wishing the Office’s Team every success and satisfaction with their work for the OSCE, we present this short information booklet. The ODIHR’s huge and important work should not go unnoticed in Poland. We are hopeful that this publication will help to make more people aware of the rich and meaningful work of the ODIHR, and what it has achieved so far,” emphasized Minister Waszczykowski in his foreword.
On 19-30 September, Warsaw hosted the OSCE’s Human Dimension Implementation Meeting (HDIM) which was organized by the ODIHR. The HDIM is Europe’s major annual conference devoted to human rights and democracy. It was officially opened on 19 September by Minister Witold Waszczykowski and German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who is the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office. This year’s edition brought together over 1,400 delegates of the OSCE participating and partner states, representatives of international organizations, civil society activists, and journalists. The conference comprised 18 thematic sessions, and nearly a hundred accompanying events.
