    Last weekend Poles living in Halifax and Nova Scotia once again had the opportunity to participate in in the 13th Polish Festival. Also Consul General Andrzej Szydło attended this event.

    First, Mr Szydło met with the Honorary Consul Jan Skóra to discuss current affairs. He visited the "Odyssey of the Wawel Treasures" exhibit at Pier 21. During the Festival he met with the Nova Scotia Lieutenant-governor, the Honourable J.J. Grant, Mr. Mike Savage the mayor of Halifax and several members of the City council. Nova Scotia. Then he spoke with the representatives of the Halifax-Dartmouth Polish Association. On Sunday, the Consul attended a meeting with the Atlantic Jewish Council to discuss the opportunities for the co-operation in future cultural events. After the meeting, a well known musician Shimon Walt and his quintet Rhapsody performed for the Consul.

     

    The Polish Heritage Festival intends to proudly display Poland’s rich heritage and culture. This year edition included delicious ethnic food, music and dancing, art show and art auction, raffle and games as well as the children’s corner – castle and games.
